Nakon što je 2020. godine dobio, kako sam priznaje, projekt života,američki dizajner Jack Fhillips lani je završio kompletnu restauraciju slavne predsjedničke jahte Honey Fitz koju je, između ostalih, koristio američki predsjednik John F. Kennedy i prva dama Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Gotovo stoljeće stari brod (porinut je 1931. godine) tražio je opsežan i temeljiti remont kako bi se spasio od sigirne smrti. To se dogodilo kada je dotrajalu jahtu kupio lokalni poduzetnik, odlučivši je obnoviti i što sličnije replicirati dekor interijera broda iz Kennedyjeve ere.
Honey Fitz je tako najprije prošao kroz trogodišnji proces restauracije koji je zahtijevao potpuni remont greda, podloge, paluba i nadgrađa za što su se pobrinuli lokalni stručnjaci za tradicionalne brodograditeljske metode koristeći se povijesnim zapisima o brodu i bilješkama Obalne straže SAD-a.
Samo uređenje interijera započelo je početkom prošle godine. Fhillips je u međuvremenu okupio tim stručnjaka koji je pročešljao arhivirane fotografije, snimke i članke napisane o brodu, a sve kako bi što vjernije prenijeli duh njegove glamurozne ere tijekom Kennedyjeve administracije.

"Igrom slučaja locirali smo izvornu tvrtku od koje je Jackie Kennedy nabavila sav namještaj od ratana na krmenoj palubi. Kako bismo odali počast legendarnoj prošlosti jahte, pronašli smo i kopije ručnih skica ugrađenih sofa koje je Jackie nacrtala na stolu Bijele kuće. Također, krmena paluba ne sadrži samo rekreacije izvornog dizajna namještaja Jackie O., već i elemente prikladne za to razdoblje, poput crnog telefona - istog onog koji bi JFK koristio za primanje poziva na brod. Prostorije u jahti su stilizirane obiteljskim fotografijama Kennedyjevih koje su bile na brodu tijekom 1960-ih, kao i drugim memorabilijama...", kazao je Fhillips nedavno za nauticmag.com.
Inače jahtu Honey Fitz koristilo je čak pet američkih predsjednika: Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson i Richard M. Nixon.

Nakon što je 2020. godine dobio, kako sam priznaje, projekt života,američki dizajner Jack Fhillips lani je završio kompletnu restauraciju slavne predsjedničke jahte Honey Fitz koju je, između ostalih, koristio američki predsjednik John F. Kennedy i prva dama Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Gotovo stoljeće stari brod (porinut je 1931. godine) tražio je opsežan i temeljiti remont kako bi se spasio od sigirne smrti. To se dogodilo kada je dotrajalu jahtu kupio lokalni poduzetnik, odlučivši je obnoviti i što sličnije replicirati dekor interijera broda iz Kennedyjeve ere.
Honey Fitz je tako najprije prošao kroz trogodišnji proces restauracije koji je zahtijevao potpuni remont greda, podloge, paluba i nadgrađa za što su se pobrinuli lokalni stručnjaci za tradicionalne brodograditeljske metode koristeći se povijesnim zapisima o brodu i bilješkama Obalne straže SAD-a.
Samo uređenje interijera započelo je početkom prošle godine. Fhillips je u međuvremenu okupio tim stručnjaka koji je pročešljao arhivirane fotografije, snimke i članke napisane o brodu, a sve kako bi što vjernije prenijeli duh njegove glamurozne ere tijekom Kennedyjeve administracije.

"Igrom slučaja locirali smo izvornu tvrtku od koje je Jackie Kennedy nabavila sav namještaj od ratana na krmenoj palubi. Kako bismo odali počast legendarnoj prošlosti jahte, pronašli smo i kopije ručnih skica ugrađenih sofa koje je Jackie nacrtala na stolu Bijele kuće. Također, krmena paluba ne sadrži samo rekreacije izvornog dizajna namještaja Jackie O., već i elemente prikladne za to razdoblje, poput crnog telefona - istog onog koji bi JFK koristio za primanje poziva na brod. Prostorije u jahti su stilizirane obiteljskim fotografijama Kennedyjevih koje su bile na brodu tijekom 1960-ih, kao i drugim memorabilijama...", kazao je Fhillips nedavno za nauticmag.com.
Inače jahtu Honey Fitz koristilo je čak pet američkih predsjednika: Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson i Richard M. Nixon.
