Francuski jedriličar Charles Caudrelier (48) pobjednik je transatlantske regate za samce Route du Rhum, a postao je i prvi koji je završio ovu poznatu utrku za manje od sedam dana.

Francuz je došao na cilj u Pointe-à-Pitreu na Guadalupeu u pet ujutro po lokalnom vremenu, prešavši 3400 nautičkih milja za šest dana, 19 sati i 47 minuta, oborivši pritom rekord prelaska Atlantika koji je postavio Francuz Francis Joyon za skoro jedan dan prije tri godine.

"Iznenađujuće nisam čak ni umoran. Utrka je bila iscrpljujuća, ali uspio sam pronaći svoj ritam. Toliko sam želio pobijediti u ovoj utrci", rekao je Caudrelier nakon prelaska ciljne linije.

Progonjen od strane drugoplasiranoga Françoisa Gabarta (SVR Lazartigue), Charles nije gubio koncentraciju tijekom opasne ture Guadeloupeom, napredujući ujednačenim tempom do legendarne bove Basse Terre, posljednje točke prijelaza prije cilja.

Charles Caudrelier, iskusni jedriličar krcat trofejima s posadom sa utrka Transat Jacques Vabre, Volvo Ocean Race i Fastnet Race, nikada prije nije Atlantik prešao sam samcat. Bio je favorit za kormilom superbrzog broda Maxi Edmond de Rothschild, bišeg naziva Gitana, 32 metra dugog i čak 23 metra širokog trimarana (trotrupca).

U utrci je prije sedam dana startao i Ivica Kostelić, ali je u utorak morao odustati zbog niza kvarova na jedrilici.

Francuski jedriličar Charles Caudrelier (48) pobjednik je transatlantske regate za samce Route du Rhum, a postao je i prvi koji je završio ovu poznatu utrku za manje od sedam dana.

Francuz je došao na cilj u Pointe-à-Pitreu na Guadalupeu u pet ujutro po lokalnom vremenu, prešavši 3400 nautičkih milja za šest dana, 19 sati i 47 minuta, oborivši pritom rekord prelaska Atlantika koji je postavio Francuz Francis Joyon za skoro jedan dan prije tri godine.

"Iznenađujuće nisam čak ni umoran. Utrka je bila iscrpljujuća, ali uspio sam pronaći svoj ritam. Toliko sam želio pobijediti u ovoj utrci", rekao je Caudrelier nakon prelaska ciljne linije.

Progonjen od strane drugoplasiranoga Françoisa Gabarta (SVR Lazartigue), Charles nije gubio koncentraciju tijekom opasne ture Guadeloupeom, napredujući ujednačenim tempom do legendarne bove Basse Terre, posljednje točke prijelaza prije cilja.

Charles Caudrelier, iskusni jedriličar krcat trofejima s posadom sa utrka Transat Jacques Vabre, Volvo Ocean Race i Fastnet Race, nikada prije nije Atlantik prešao sam samcat. Bio je favorit za kormilom superbrzog broda Maxi Edmond de Rothschild, bišeg naziva Gitana, 32 metra dugog i čak 23 metra širokog trimarana (trotrupca).

U utrci je prije sedam dana startao i Ivica Kostelić, ali je u utorak morao odustati zbog niza kvarova na jedrilici.
