Premda već dvadesetak godina postoje na tržištu, sjekači za konope kod nas se dosta rijetko susreću. Engleski im je naziv rope cutter, što bi u direktnom prijevodu bilo rezač ili sjekač konopa. Ima ih različitih oblika i u raznim varijantama, a mogli bismo ih podijeliti u dvije osnovne grupe, upravo prema tim varijacijama naziva – na rezače i sjekače.
Tanka nevolja
Rezači su u obliku diska pričvršćenog na osovinu, a za sječivo koriste oštri rub, nazubljen ili ne, koji se rotira zajedno s osovinom i tako reže zapetljani konop.
Sjekači imaju dva elementa i rade na principu škara. Jedan im je nož fiksiran za statvenu cijev ili škrok, a na osovini je prsten s dva ili tri noža koji se zajedno s njom okreću. Nemaju oštre rubove za rezanje, nego oštre noževe za presijecanje.

Mnogi smatraju da je ova oprema dobrodošla u slučaju kad se pri isplovljenju konop mooringa zapetlja oko propelera, međutim, to je zabluda. Tom su konopu oba kraja vezana i već s nekoliko namotaja zategne se jedna ili druga strana. Nastalo opterećenje češće ugasi motor nego što rope cutter prereže konop. Uglavnom ga samo ošteti. Za oslobađanje propelera opet je potrebno zaroniti.
Međutim, ozbiljnu štetu mogu nanijeti tanki konopi arganela i tunje. Naime, vojevi namatani na osovinu znaju se slagati jedan uz drugi, nabijati u statvenu cijev i izbijati ležaj, a kod sail-drivea i uništiti semering.

Koliko je koji model efikasan, pokazali su neki usporedni testovi s konopima različitih debljina, mrežama, najlonom i poliesterskim platnom. Neki modeli oblika diska režu sve vrste konopa promjera do 25 milimetara, pa i mreže od tanjeg najlonskog konopa, neki samo tanje konope do 10 milimetara, a neki ništa, niti nešto deblji najlon tunje.
Dva stava
Na istim se testovima pokazalo da su modeli koji sijeku poput škara dosta učinkovitiji. Osim što sijeku sve prethodno navedene konope, dosta uspješno oslobađaju propeler i od debeloga najlona, mreže od poliesterskog konopa ili tvrdog poliesterskog platna.
Koliko je isplativa njihova ugradnja, teško je razlučiti. Činjenica je da su ih kod nas neko vrijeme koristili u nekim čarter flotama, ali su od toga brzo odustali jer im ukupna korist nije opravdavala uloženu investiciju. S druge strane, neki nautičari koji su u čestim transferima ili krstare na dužim rutama imaju samo riječi hvale za rope cutter.

Premda već dvadesetak godina postoje na tržištu, sjekači za konope kod nas se dosta rijetko susreću. Engleski im je naziv rope cutter, što bi u direktnom prijevodu bilo rezač ili sjekač konopa. Ima ih različitih oblika i u raznim varijantama, a mogli bismo ih podijeliti u dvije osnovne grupe, upravo prema tim varijacijama naziva – na rezače i sjekače.
Tanka nevolja
Rezači su u obliku diska pričvršćenog na osovinu, a za sječivo koriste oštri rub, nazubljen ili ne, koji se rotira zajedno s osovinom i tako reže zapetljani konop.
Sjekači imaju dva elementa i rade na principu škara. Jedan im je nož fiksiran za statvenu cijev ili škrok, a na osovini je prsten s dva ili tri noža koji se zajedno s njom okreću. Nemaju oštre rubove za rezanje, nego oštre noževe za presijecanje.

Mnogi smatraju da je ova oprema dobrodošla u slučaju kad se pri isplovljenju konop mooringa zapetlja oko propelera, međutim, to je zabluda. Tom su konopu oba kraja vezana i već s nekoliko namotaja zategne se jedna ili druga strana. Nastalo opterećenje češće ugasi motor nego što rope cutter prereže konop. Uglavnom ga samo ošteti. Za oslobađanje propelera opet je potrebno zaroniti.
Međutim, ozbiljnu štetu mogu nanijeti tanki konopi arganela i tunje. Naime, vojevi namatani na osovinu znaju se slagati jedan uz drugi, nabijati u statvenu cijev i izbijati ležaj, a kod sail-drivea i uništiti semering.

Koliko je koji model efikasan, pokazali su neki usporedni testovi s konopima različitih debljina, mrežama, najlonom i poliesterskim platnom. Neki modeli oblika diska režu sve vrste konopa promjera do 25 milimetara, pa i mreže od tanjeg najlonskog konopa, neki samo tanje konope do 10 milimetara, a neki ništa, niti nešto deblji najlon tunje.
Dva stava
Na istim se testovima pokazalo da su modeli koji sijeku poput škara dosta učinkovitiji. Osim što sijeku sve prethodno navedene konope, dosta uspješno oslobađaju propeler i od debeloga najlona, mreže od poliesterskog konopa ili tvrdog poliesterskog platna.
Koliko je isplativa njihova ugradnja, teško je razlučiti. Činjenica je da su ih kod nas neko vrijeme koristili u nekim čarter flotama, ali su od toga brzo odustali jer im ukupna korist nije opravdavala uloženu investiciju. S druge strane, neki nautičari koji su u čestim transferima ili krstare na dužim rutama imaju samo riječi hvale za rope cutter.
