Prema pisanju internet stranice gCaptain, sve veći broj plovila pod ruskom zastavom mijenja zastavu. Tako brodari i brodovlasnici nastoje izbjeći sankcije uvedene zbog rata u Ukrajini - kažu iz izraelske pomorsko-konzultantske tvrtke Windward Ltd.

Ovakvi slučajevi promjene zastava dolaze nedugo nakon što su brojna ruska plovila 'nestala' jer su isključili sustave za identifikaciju, što može predstavljati opasnost za sigurnost plovidbe.
