Utjecaj dotoka guste jadranske vode na cirkulaciju Jonskog mora tema je predavanja najavljenog za petak 19. svibnja u 13.15 sati na splitskom Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu. Održat će ga prof. dr. sc. Miroslav Gačić s Nacionalnog instituta za oceanografiju i primijenjenu geofiziku u Trstu (OGS).

Predstaviti će se teorijska razmatranja, rezultati in situ i satelitskih mjerenja, te posebno dizajnirani eksperiment tijekom kojeg je utjecaj dotoka jadranske guste vode na cirkulaciju Jonskog mora simuliran korištenjem velikog (d = 14 m) rotirajućeg tanka.

Strujanje u Jonskom moru karakterizirano je inverzijama horizontalnog strujanja na višegodišnjoj vremenskoj skali; fenomen koji nije do sada uočen u svjetskim morima.

Prve indikacije tih inverzija uočene su iz satelitskih podataka o razini mora, dakle iz mjerenja koja su počela 1992. godine. Prve teorije o uzroku tih inverzija bile su vezane uz utjecaj vjetra, međutim daljnja istraživanja pokazala su da je taj fenomen vezan uz utjecaj dotoka guste vode, uglavnom iz Jadrana. Promjene gustoće duboke morske vode formirane u Jadranu vezane su uz varijacije saliniteta ulazne vode u Jadran iz Jonskog mora. Takve promjene gustoće u pridnenom sloju Jonskog mora mijenjaju predznak gradijenta tlaka mijenjavši pri tome i smjer pridnene struje i uzrokujući njenu inverziju. To se tada reflektira i na površinsko strujanje gdje se mijenja nagib razine mora i površinskog gradijenta tlaka tako da strujanje u Jonskom moru od površine do dna mijenja smjer u funkciji varijacije gustoće jadranske pridnene vode.

Takve promjene imaju važan utjecaj na niz procesa kako u Jadranu tako i u Istočnom Mediteranu. Isto tako naizmjenični utjecaj Atlantske odnosno istočno mediteranske vode rezultira u povećanoj prisutnosti organizama iz Atlantika ili iz Istočnog Mediterana u Jadranu. Drugim riječima promjena gustoće jadranske pridnene vode određuje oceanografske osobine Jadranskog i Jonskog mora te cijelog Istočnog Mediterana.

Kako bi se potvrdila teorija o prevladavajućem utjecaju varijacija gustoće Jadranske vode na inverzije strujanja u Jonskom moru izvršen je niz laboratoriskih eksperimenata na rotirajućoj platformi Sveučilišta u Grenoble-u.

Utjecaj dotoka guste jadranske vode na cirkulaciju Jonskog mora tema je predavanja najavljenog za petak 19. svibnja u 13.15 sati na splitskom Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu. Održat će ga prof. dr. sc. Miroslav Gačić s Nacionalnog instituta za oceanografiju i primijenjenu geofiziku u Trstu (OGS).

Predstaviti će se teorijska razmatranja, rezultati in situ i satelitskih mjerenja, te posebno dizajnirani eksperiment tijekom kojeg je utjecaj dotoka jadranske guste vode na cirkulaciju Jonskog mora simuliran korištenjem velikog (d = 14 m) rotirajućeg tanka.

Strujanje u Jonskom moru karakterizirano je inverzijama horizontalnog strujanja na višegodišnjoj vremenskoj skali; fenomen koji nije do sada uočen u svjetskim morima.

Prve indikacije tih inverzija uočene su iz satelitskih podataka o razini mora, dakle iz mjerenja koja su počela 1992. godine. Prve teorije o uzroku tih inverzija bile su vezane uz utjecaj vjetra, međutim daljnja istraživanja pokazala su da je taj fenomen vezan uz utjecaj dotoka guste vode, uglavnom iz Jadrana. Promjene gustoće duboke morske vode formirane u Jadranu vezane su uz varijacije saliniteta ulazne vode u Jadran iz Jonskog mora. Takve promjene gustoće u pridnenom sloju Jonskog mora mijenjaju predznak gradijenta tlaka mijenjavši pri tome i smjer pridnene struje i uzrokujući njenu inverziju. To se tada reflektira i na površinsko strujanje gdje se mijenja nagib razine mora i površinskog gradijenta tlaka tako da strujanje u Jonskom moru od površine do dna mijenja smjer u funkciji varijacije gustoće jadranske pridnene vode.

Takve promjene imaju važan utjecaj na niz procesa kako u Jadranu tako i u Istočnom Mediteranu. Isto tako naizmjenični utjecaj Atlantske odnosno istočno mediteranske vode rezultira u povećanoj prisutnosti organizama iz Atlantika ili iz Istočnog Mediterana u Jadranu. Drugim riječima promjena gustoće jadranske pridnene vode određuje oceanografske osobine Jadranskog i Jonskog mora te cijelog Istočnog Mediterana.

Kako bi se potvrdila teorija o prevladavajućem utjecaju varijacija gustoće Jadranske vode na inverzije strujanja u Jonskom moru izvršen je niz laboratoriskih eksperimenata na rotirajućoj platformi Sveučilišta u Grenoble-u.

Utjecaj dotoka guste jadranske vode na cirkulaciju Jonskog mora tema je predavanja najavljenog za petak 19. svibnja u 13.15 sati na splitskom Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu. Održat će ga prof. dr. sc. Miroslav Gačić s Nacionalnog instituta za oceanografiju i primijenjenu geofiziku u Trstu (OGS).

Predstaviti će se teorijska razmatranja, rezultati in situ i satelitskih mjerenja, te posebno dizajnirani eksperiment tijekom kojeg je utjecaj dotoka jadranske guste vode na cirkulaciju Jonskog mora simuliran korištenjem velikog (d = 14 m) rotirajućeg tanka.

Strujanje u Jonskom moru karakterizirano je inverzijama horizontalnog strujanja na višegodišnjoj vremenskoj skali; fenomen koji nije do sada uočen u svjetskim morima.

Prve indikacije tih inverzija uočene su iz satelitskih podataka o razini mora, dakle iz mjerenja koja su počela 1992. godine. Prve teorije o uzroku tih inverzija bile su vezane uz utjecaj vjetra, međutim daljnja istraživanja pokazala su da je taj fenomen vezan uz utjecaj dotoka guste vode, uglavnom iz Jadrana. Promjene gustoće duboke morske vode formirane u Jadranu vezane su uz varijacije saliniteta ulazne vode u Jadran iz Jonskog mora. Takve promjene gustoće u pridnenom sloju Jonskog mora mijenjaju predznak gradijenta tlaka mijenjavši pri tome i smjer pridnene struje i uzrokujući njenu inverziju. To se tada reflektira i na površinsko strujanje gdje se mijenja nagib razine mora i površinskog gradijenta tlaka tako da strujanje u Jonskom moru od površine do dna mijenja smjer u funkciji varijacije gustoće jadranske pridnene vode.

Takve promjene imaju važan utjecaj na niz procesa kako u Jadranu tako i u Istočnom Mediteranu. Isto tako naizmjenični utjecaj Atlantske odnosno istočno mediteranske vode rezultira u povećanoj prisutnosti organizama iz Atlantika ili iz Istočnog Mediterana u Jadranu. Drugim riječima promjena gustoće jadranske pridnene vode određuje oceanografske osobine Jadranskog i Jonskog mora te cijelog Istočnog Mediterana.

Kako bi se potvrdila teorija o prevladavajućem utjecaju varijacija gustoće Jadranske vode na inverzije strujanja u Jonskom moru izvršen je niz laboratoriskih eksperimenata na rotirajućoj platformi Sveučilišta u Grenoble-u.
